1997/1996:        Director of Photography on 24 senior projects (15min short films).

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Feature Films and Short Films:

July - September 2004:“Falafel” shot on S16 (blown up to 35mm), produced, directed and written by Michel Kamoun. The film earned the “best film award” in “Namur” festival, Belgium, among other awards.

January 2004 - March 2004: "A New Day In Old Sanaa”, the first ever Yemeni feature film, shot on S16 (blown up to 35mm), directed by English-Yemeni Bader Ben Hirsi (winner of the best director award in the Arab Screen Festival on his “Docu-drama”, “The English Sheikh & The Yemeni Gentlemen”). www.anewdayinoldsanaa.com. The film won best Arab film award in Cairo film festival 2005 among other awards.

September 2003: “Beau Rivage” a short film shot on 16mm (Kodak 500T 8 year old stock) directed by Claude el Khal, (black & white).

January 2003: “beautiful is the sea”, a short film shot on 35mm, directed and produced by Sabine Chamaa (Saba films).

September 2002:  “my father’s house” a short film shot on beta 300P, directed by Layla Kanaan, The film won several awards in Lebanon and was also shown in Montpelier and Clermont film festivals in France (2003).

August 2001:“I’m fine and U", a short film (26’) shot on 16mm, directed by Maha Haddad, masters degree project (IESAV).

May 1999: “The Shower”, short film shot on 35mm, directed by Michel Kammoun, (The film earned a best cinematography award in the “Arab Screen Independent Festival” in Qatar 2001).

November 2006: “war of peace”,2 x 52’ documentary on the political situation in Lebanon, produced by Green line, directed by Hady Zackak.

October 2006: “On the road in America” 12 episodes series on Arab youth in America, produced and directed by golden globe award winning producer Jerome Gari (I co-shot the final 3 episodes in the Arab world).

September 2006: “oil spill”, 52’ educational documentary on Lebanese coast after the war of 2006, directed by Hady Zackak.

December 2005: “refugees for life”, 52’ documentary on Palestinian refugees in south Lebanon and Germany, directed by Hady Zackak, produced by (O3 prod.).

October 2005: “GO SOUTH” 26mns documentary on the liberated regions in South of Lebanon, directed by Hady Zackak.

Summer 2005: three 26’ docudramas: “portraits of filmmakers”, featuring Jean Chamoun & May Masri (Lebanese/Palestinian award winning documentary filmmakers) and Nizar Hassan (Palestinian documentary award winning filmmaker), (O3 prod)

April/May 2005:a 52' documentary on the “Buddhist” religion in Thailand, produced by Firehorse Films (Al Jazira).

Mars 2005:a 50min documentary on the “Zoroastrian” religion in Iran, produced by Firehorse Films (Al Jazira).

November 2004:a 50min documentary on the “Bahaï” religion in Chicago (USA), produced by Firehorse Films, (Al Jazira).

April 2004: "Y jazz" a road movie style documentary, shot on beta sp, directed by Pascal Privet, following a European music band in Yemen for a jazz music mixture with Yemeni traditional music.

July 2003: a short length documentary on “Mohammad”, shot on mini DV Canon XL1s, directed by Maha Haddad, Beirut DC, O3 Production.

July 2003:a short length documentary on “ElieFeyrouz”, shot on mini DV Sony, PD150, directed by Cynthia Choucair, Beirut DC, O3 Production.

June 2003: a 52min documentary about the war on terrorism in Yemen “Yemen and the War against Terror”, shot on beta SX, directed by Bader Ben Hirsi (YMC).

May 2003: a medium length award winning documentary on Iraqi war through Lebanese eyes, “Intihar”, shot on mini Dv Canon XL1s, directed by Eliane Raheb.

January 2003: a 30min documentary shot on beta SP, directed by Fibi Kraus (German/Italian director), “Queens of Yemen”, about women’s rights and in Yemen.

Winter 2000:Camera Operator on a long length documentary shot on a Sony VX1000 in a reportage style, directed by Randa Chahal, titled “Soha” (Soha Bechara).

Commercials and Music Videos (1998 – 2005):

I have worked as a Gaffer (1997/1998) then as a Director of Photography (1999/2007) with practically all the production houses in Lebanon and the Arab world, lighting and filming numerous commercials for prestigious clients and big products.
